Benah Center for Human Flourishing, Inc. was founded on the belief that every person has the capacity to grow, heal, and flourish. We promote mental health and wellbeing by equipping individuals, families, professionals, and communities with knowledge, meaningful relationships, and practical skills.
The name Benah is inspired by the Hebrew word בָּנָה (banah), meaning “to build” or “to rebuild.” This idea is beautifully reflected in the Book of Ezra, where the people of Israel returned to Jerusalem after exile to rebuild the temple and restore their community. Despite significant challenges, they persevered with hope, courage, and a shared vision for renewal. Their story reminds us that rebuilding is possible—even after seasons of hardship.
Inspired by this message of restoration, Benah Center was established to help individuals, families, professionals, organizations, and communities build stronger foundations for lifelong well-being and human flourishing. We believe that rebuilding extends beyond physical structures; it includes restoring relationships, strengthening resilience, promoting mental wellness, and cultivating environments where people can thrive.
Benah Center for Human Flourishing, Inc. grew from our team’s experience in counseling, education, professional training, and international collaboration, and from a growing recognition of the need for accessible, evidence-informed resources for those who serve others. Benah was created to help bridge that gap, equipping professionals, organizations, and communities with practical tools to promote mental health, strengthen relationships, and serve diverse and vulnerable populations.
Today, Benah Center for Human Flourishing is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a public charity, dedicated to advancing education, research, and community engagement that strengthen individuals and the systems that support them. Through training, collaborative partnerships, and practical resources, we seek to empower people to build healthier relationships, resilient communities, and flourishing lives.
At the heart of Benah is the conviction that meaningful change is possible, and that with the right knowledge, relationships, and support, people and communities can rebuild and flourish.
