Benah leaders are committed to strengthening the global mental health workforce by investing in the education and professional development of future counselors. Through collaboration with The American University in Cairo, Egypt counselor education program, members of Benah Center’s for Human Flourishing, Inc. leadership team—Dr. Luna and Dr. Bearden—provided clinical supervision (Wellness Focused Supervision Model), mentoring, and professional consultation to graduate counseling students as they developed their counseling competencies, ethical decision-making skills, and professional identity.
This collaborative work helped emerging counselors integrate counseling theory with clinical practice, strengthen therapeutic relationships, develop cultural humility, and confidently apply evidence-informed interventions with diverse populations. By investing in counselor education internationally, Dr. Luna and Dr. Bearden contributed to preparing compassionate, competent, and ethically grounded mental health professionals who are equipped to serve individuals, couples, families, and communities with excellence.
